The ValueJet VJ-1638UH Mark 2 is Mutoh’s first ever dual head LED UV printer delivering increased print & cure performance. 162.5 cm (64”) wide, the VJ-1638UH Mark 2 is all about versatility; it is the ideal tool to expand your business with a wide range of commercial print applications. The printer accommodates 1625 mm (63.97”) roll media up to 30 kg as well as rigid boards up to 1625 mm x 1200 mm (63,97” x 47,24”) up to 15 mm thick and up to 15 kg. For automatic roll up of prints, the VJ-1638UH Mark 2 can be equipped with a 30 kg or 100 kg motorised take-up system.
This printer will enable you to maximize your creativity! Next to CMYK, the VJ-1638UH Mark 2 also can be set-up with varnish and white to handle transparent or non-white substrates without losing colour power or to create special print effects and multi-layer printing for prints with high added value. Both flex and rigid inks are available.
The Printer’s Heart Beats Quality
A staggered dual head setup with latest generation variable drop piezo print heads is at the heart of the ValueJet 1638UH’s Mark 2 stunning performance. Each 1440-nozzle head (8 lines of 180 nozzles) incorporates four colour sections, divided in two nozzle rows with 360 nozzles per colour. The integrated print heads are capable of producing ink drops ranging from 3.8 pl to 28 pl.
LED UV Inks for Ultra-sharp, Safe & Ready to Use Prints
Mutoh’s LED UV inks are zero VOC liquids which do not contain hazardous air pollutants (non-HAP). Both flex and rigid inks are available.
Two powerful long-life (14.250 hours) LED UV lamps are Mercury and Lead free and they ensure Ozone free, safe and ultra-sharp prints, which are ready to be used or laminated immediately after printing. LED lamps don’t create heat towards the media, making the technology extremely well suited for handling heat sensitive media as opposed to “classic” UV or water-based resin ink technologies generating huge amounts of heat or relying on high temperatures to dry the ink.
Roll & Rigid Media
With front & rear roller tables, the printer accommodates rigid materials up to 15 mm thickness with a maximum weight of 15 kg. Media thickness is measured electronically and head height is adjusted automatically. Media loading is quick and easy with the media alignment option. For motorised roll up of roll media, the ValueJet 1638UH Mark 2 can be equipped with a tension winder 30 system taking media rolls up to 30 kg, or alternatively with a motorised roll off/take up system for rolls up to 100 kg. Conversion from rigid to roll mode or vice versa only takes a minute.

Dedicated i² print effects for the Mutoh LED UV inks have been engineered, ensuring a drastic reduction of the curing structure in the ink layer and gloss banding suppression.

Wide Choice of Media
The ValueJet VJ-1638UH LED-UV printer will deliver high quality prints on a huge variety of roll and rigid media, including non-conventional media types, such as ABS, Aluminium board, Cardboard, Fluted & corrugated boards, Glass, heat sensitive flex media like Polyolefin-based (PVC-Free) self-adhesive films, Non-woven, PC, PE, PET, PES, PMMA (acrylic), PP, PS, PVC *.
* : Ink adhesion will vary among media type and brand. Some media may require a primer or may benefit from corona treatment. Individual testing is required in function of your choice of material, brand and specific application.
